“MSB’s Platinum is, quite simply, the best amplifier we’ve ever heard.”

Driven By Innovation
When we designed our Platinum DAC, we quickly ran into a problem—there was no amplifier on the market capable of holding an image together, especially with multiple instruments playing at the same time. After scouring the market, we decided to build an amplifier from the ground up, one capable of meeting the high demands our Platinum DAC requires. Equipped with a more robust design ethos, the M204 comes with state-of-the-art transformers, grounding designed to interface with our isolation base technology, and a new lower-noise input stage—20 db lower than the previous design. Innovation never sounded so good.
A Smoother Design for a Smoother Experience
As you’ve probably noticed, the M204 Amplifiers are round, a far cry from the blockier design in the previous model. This design allows us to keep the signal paths as short as possible for the best possible performance and heat dissipation.
Truly Balanced Architecture
The inputs and outputs have been put through our rigorous testing process, ensuring they’re completely balanced. We’ve also added an additional single-ended input to reward dynamic customization. A simple switch located near the input jacks allows you to switch the Amplifier between Single-Ended operation, Balanced (high gain, + 6dB) and Balanced (low gain).
Based on customer feedback, the M204 has both a total power on / off and standby mode, all selected by the lighted toggle on top and via a remote jack on the back. It also has a high/low Bias switch, allowing the Amplifier to run in a cool mode for hot environments, and at normal temperature for the very best sound possible.
Having made amplifiers for many years, we’ve thought it best to design for the long term. With that in mind, we’ve put all power sensitive devices on a simple drawer located in the back of the amplifier, allowing it to be easily replaced by the user. Additionally, the amplifier structure is easy to change. The heatsinks in most amplifiers are a part of the basic chassis and cannot be changed. However, the M204 heat sinks can be removed and replaced in the field. This allows us to offer the M204 in a wide range of colors to fit every system. How will yours look?
